Survival

Ok well this is a little late but a couple of months ago my mom, brother, friend savanna and I went to a teenpact survival camp. It was a team building and leadership camp. It was a lot of fun, I met a whole bunch of new friends and I had a great team! here are some pics!

Savanna, Luke and I

Rebecka and Jeremiah were my team's staff

My team!

We were the Radical Ecstatical Dominators (RED)
Luke and Savanna's team. The Llamas En Fuego

Identifying leaves

Our team's shelter
We were on "mission possible" as a team we had to build a waterproof and sturdy shelter, a sun compass, a water still, a fire, and a dead fall trap. Then all the staff came and graded us on it.

Llama's flag

Our flag and bags

In the shelter

The wall. We had to get our entire team over as many times as we could in a certain amount of time. My team of 11 people made it over 12 times. (we won that challenge)

Island hopping. If you touched the ground or if you let the plank touch the ground then you "lost" a body part. John (in the Georgia hat) lost his tongue so he could not talk. I lost my fingers so I had to keep my hands in fists the whole time. Ian (with the blindfold) lost his eyes and Anna (in the yellow) lost her right leg.

Everyone had face paint on for camo and the only way it would come off is with shaving cream.

Doing our team chants

The spider web. we could not touch the strings

The box. we all had to fit on a small box at one time for twenty seconds

The rope swing. We could not touch the orange tape, the ground on the other side of the tape, or the tree. We all had to swing around to the other side of the tree.

Making lunch. Tortillas, hotdogs, ramen noodles, and American cheese. It was interesting.

Our practice shelter

Hanging around. Michael, Hannah, Cory, Me, Luke, and Savanna

Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

usually by this time in the Christmas season I would be saying that I can't wait for Christmas. Not this year!!! I mean yeah, I'm excited about the presents and family and food! but I really don't want Christmas to come too fast because that means it will be over too fast!! This month has flown by up until this week and I am so happy that this week has crept by. But still only five days till Christmas eve!!!!! Any way, I wish every one a very Merry and Blessed Christmas and a wonderful, exciting New Year!!!!!!

Something more?

Do you ever have the feeling that you are missing something? Like there is some thing going on that you are or should be a part of but you are just at home sitting on your couch and that the people there (wherever they are) know that you are not there but should be. It is a very strange feeling it keeps you alert and willing to do anything or go anywhere as long as it is not where you are. I guess it can be not good if you are dong school work or trying to sleep at night but when you are just sitting like I am it gives you a sense of purpose or adventure especially when your imagination starts to take off. But any way I don't why I felt like sharing that but that is how I feel right now. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I skipped soccer practice tonight and my team mates are out there right now practicing with out me. I am sure it has nothing to do with that! ;)

Still

"Be still and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10
wow! be still!..and know that I am God. think about that for a second. God is telling us to be still to be paisient to be peacefull so that we can know that He is God. When we spent our days going going going and doing doing doing we cannot see Him moving or hear Him calling. You can say well even when I am going and doing I still know that He is God! but do you realy KNOW that He is God? deep down do you fully without a doubt know without being still and seeing Him at work and Hearing His voice? Today I was still, and let me tell you it was the best thing I have done all week. I wasn't praying by my bed or studying His word at the kitchen table-even though both our great to do- I was in a tree. Yep a tree laying on a branch in the cool sptember breeze with the golden sun peeking through the green and yellow leaves. I was being still and just being with God and now I know why He tells us to be still because when I was out in that tree hanging on a limb I felt Him there with me. Be still and know that I am God...
